Fan convectors and plinth heaters

If wall space is at a premium or you require a large heat output and don’t want large radiators on view then it may be worth considering installing either a wall mounted fan convector heater or, if it’s sited in a kitchen or utility room, a kick space or plinth heater.

Both units are plumbed directly into the central heating pipework, in the same way as your radiators, and can provide a significant amount of heat from a small surface area, however the internal fan can produce a small amount of background noise, which can make them unsuitable for certain rooms.
